We provide a variety of services to help you achieve and maintain a healthy smile.
Crowns
The purpose of a crown is to restore and protect a tooth. A crown should be placed when there is not enough tooth structure to hold a filling. They should also be done on almost all root canal treated teeth as they can become brittle and prone to breaking in time. We are excited of the technology of all porcelain crowns which combine strength and natural beauty. This is what we use for cosmetic crowns on front teeth.
Fillings
Fillings are done to restore teeth that are the result of cavities. The damaged portion of the tooth is removed and a filling material is put in its place.
Veneers
Veneers are a conservative option when planning cosmetic cases to change the colour, size, or shape of the tooth or teeth with natural appearing results. They are especially helpful to close moderately sized spaces between front teeth.
Root Canal Therapy
Root canal therapy is the removal of the nerve and cleaning the inner portion of the tooth. Root Canal treatment is performed to relieve pain or infection from a tooth. Sometimes a cavity gets so big that it infects the nerve of the tooth causing pain. Some infections can become quite large that they may even cause what is called an abscess. There is nothing special to prepare for from the patients point of view, the appointment is similar to getting a filling done.
Treatment for Missing Teeth
Bridges
If you are missing a tooth (or several), one option that may be available to you is a bridge. A bridge uses two or more teeth on either side of the space as anchors. These are prepared like crowns. A bridge is then made to span the area of the missing tooth. Like with crowns, there are many options available to you in terms of material, each particularly suited for your specific situation.
Implants
Dental implants have gained popularity in the last twenty years because they are a predictable option to replace a missing tooth or teeth. Dental implants have a proven reliability to last an exceptional length of time. They can be used for single teeth, multiple missing teeth, or even support a fixed denture.
Complete and Partial Dentures
Dentures are an affordable option for those who are missing one, a few or all their teeth. If someone is missing all their teeth, they would need a complete denture to replace them. Partial dentures come in a few varieties but their purpose is the same: to replace some teeth and allow you to eat and look better. Partial dentures can be made with a metal base or with a flexible plastic base.
